RETREATS
Now Offering Artist & Wellness Retreats!!!
Bring your guests and communities to a unique, intimate retreat experience set in a
lovingly restored 19th-century home in the heart of Portugal’s Ribatejo region—a
tranquil countryside just over an hour from Lisbon, near many historic towns.
As more travelers, creatives, and wellness seekers discover Portugal for its beauty,
safety, and affordability, Casa Genoveva offers a rare opportunity to combine your
retreat with the country’s cultural life, history and natural serenity.
A Place of Connection and Creativity
Dating to 1837, Casa Genoveva has long been a place where stories, meals, and
ideas are shared across generations. With spacious, light-filled rooms, tranquil
gardens, and a Great Room (complete with a fully-equipped industrial kitchen),
the home is designed for reflection, inspiration, and creative expression.
Our team provides full-service retreat hosting—so you will arrive ready to teach,
guide, and connect, while we manage the logistics, meals, excursions, activities
and guest experience.

The Setting
Guests will dine in our walled garden sanctuary, on
Portuguese cobblestone patios lit by soft evening
lights, or inside the dining room, surrounded by
books, ceramics, and family photographs that tell
the story of the house. Meals are served in a setting
where conversation flows easily, connections
deepen, and time slows down.
Accommodations for up to 14 guests include a
private suite for the instructor. Additional stays are
also available at nearby facilities.
Each room has an ensuite bathroom, Wifi, AC and
heating. Meals—prepared by our in- house cooks
and local chefs—feature traditional dishes,
vegetarian options, and wellness-inspired menus
using local ingredients.
Local Excursions & Activities
We are happy to organize excursions tailored to your
group. A guided visit to the historic village of Tomar,
and its world heritage Templar Castle or a riverfront
dining along the Nabão. Wine and regional products
tasting under a vineyard pergola; a private tour of a
noble’s Palace, while learning about olive oil and cork.
Yoga and meditation sessions in the serenity of our
garden and culinary workshops on our old stone
table… These are only some of our special activities to
complete your teaching program.
At Casa Genoveva, quiet moments are filled with the
sound of birds, the rustle of olive trees, and the gentle
snore of Pluto, the family dog—a reminder that life
here moves at a gentler pace.
Whether you’re leading a retreat in art, writing, yoga,
cooking, or personal growth, we’d love to host you at
Casa Genoveva.
